Arts & Entertainment: Public's Vote Finalists
After receiving more than 20,000 online votes, Girl Talk: Choices and Consequences of Underage Drinking is pleased to announce the "Public's Vote" winner in the nationwide Reel Girls, Real Life contest is Kylee Darcy’s “What You Don’t Know.” Six finalist submissions were chosen by an esteemed panel of judges to compete online right here at www.grltlk.org to be named the “Public’s Vote” winner, which includes a $1,000 cash prize and a vote toward becoming the contest’s grand prize winner.

The finalists include:

• Dorene Ahmad – Brooklyn, New York
• Kylee Darcy – Fairfax, California
• Kerri Kehl – Tucson, Arizona
• Kira LaCoss – Hollis, New Hampshire
• Ralitza Treneva – Skokie, Illinois
• Melinda Whitaker – Westlake, Ohio

The Century Council, announced the first national
contest for their program Girl Talk: Choices and
Consequences of Underage Drinking in February.
Girls, ages 15-18, entered the contest by
submitting a concept video for a commercial
designed to persuade teen girls not to drink
alcohol. The grand prize winner’s
concept will be produced and distributed as
The Century Council’s first Girl Talk national
commercial. The winner will receive $5,000
and The Century Council will fly her and a
parent or guardian to film her commercial
with the pros.

Congratulations Kylee on your efforts to communicate with your peers about the dangers of underage drinking!! Thank you to all who participated in the contest by submitting a video and to all the Girl Talk viewers who voted for their favorite concept.
